Years at MAA 2 

Why I teach: I believe that the purpose for education is to give students the tools in both academics as well as their own path in life. I teach to the whole child incorporating social and emotional development into the learning of academic skills. I love to see how my students grow year in and year out!

In my classroom, I utilize both whole-class discussions and small group centers. We expand math rote knowledge of facts and incorporate them into problem-solving and real-world projects. In Social Studies, we cover Ancient Native American civilizations, European explorers, the Colonies and the American Revolution. A fifth-grade highlight is the Living History Museum Project. Collaborating with my partner, Ms. Gazzola, the students research an historical figure, write a first-person performance monologue, create an appropriate outfit, and present it to the MAA community.
