Why I teach: Teaching offers me a unique opportunity to continue to learn from students' curiosities and creative ideas while helping them reach their full potential. My belief is that education has the power to inspire youth to reimagine and create a thriving community. A personal passion for lifelong learning has led to my love for teaching. As an educator, I strive for students to develop a deep understanding, appreciation, and application of meaningful content.

In Grade 4, our students gain a sense of power once they recognize connections between word meanings and classical roots in our vocabulary studies. At the same time, they are honing their ability to convey ideas in writing as they develop narratives that incorporate vivid details and specific word choices. In math classes, students leverage math facts to conquer long division and extend their knowledge of fractions to understanding decimals. The Ten Commandments reinforce the MAA’s Mission statement while integrating faith with social and emotional development. The community celebration of USA Day is a culminating event that acknowledges the state research and presentation each student has done. I am grateful for the strong partnership with Ms. Kayser that helps all of our students succeed in Grade 4.
