Years at MAA: 10

I have 25+ years in the classroom and have been at MAA for 10 years. Being in an early childhood classroom is my favorite place to be. The energy and enthusiasm of preschool children is delightful to experience. Working in the classroom I see the progression of skills and concepts learned throughout the year and the excitement and pride from students each time they accomplish something new. 

Culminating in the shape parade throughout the Main Building, the shape unit is a contender for favorite highlight of the year. The children LOVE the shape people and learn to identify various shapes and shape names through the integration of a variety of activies. My personal highlight is just the day-to-day time spent together.  Our Mother’s Day Tea and Dads with Donuts events offer a wonderful opportunity to invite our parents in to join us for part of the day. Christmas and the Advent season is a magical time during our year. Story time is an enjoyable part of our day. Sharing my love of books and teaching different songs and felt board activities is a special part of our program.
